Sir John Falstaff has not much to laugh about, are the two ladies Ford and Page saw through his cheap game have - both were completely identical love letters from him and decide now to take revenge on Falstaff. Them to the side is given to the clever hostess of Falstaff's favorite tavern and a zealous servant who knows how to pull out of the hustle and bustle still own profit.
But that's not enough, there's another plot line: the little Anne Page is faced with three different lovers who woo them and their opinion is also true, unfortunately, does not match that of their parents. Can they finally win the indigent Fenton as a husband?
The motives are not new Shakespeare typically contain: love, deceit, jealousy, Geliebtseinwollen, malice ... and see through as so often the simple servant and the rabble the game first, lovers, belonging together, of course, and also the men remain the ultimate cuckold, led by the nose by their clever wives. Why then look at all?
Just because it's so much fun to watch in this round, and because the harmonious ensemble of the workshop stage can walk across the unanimous enthusiasm in the audience room. The "Weiberduo" David Schmauss and Ulla Seebode plays wonderfully to the balls and their laughter seems to be more than just play when they once again equipped Wolfgang Stenglin as Falstaff, with a nice wig and always vainly trying to save themselves from the mess to lead astray. But even the minor characters shine, such as Simple as Chris Stein, Tobias Illing French than glorious affectation doctor or Ladnar Stephan, pastor of the Welsh breathes convincing life. Even Maria Papadimitrou in the role of the maid or Cornelia Wagner as hostess prettily dressed burlesque give the trick a friendly face.
The company has managed a colorful confusion, entangled in the all together, get involved, benefit, or empty-handed and in the end it dissolves all the better. Shakespeare works this time - even in a small narrow cellar with a modest stage and few props. Which are also not necessary, because the characters take the place that is still there and with good reason.
The play runs until 22 January every Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Then the "The Open Couple" by Dario For, see.
